The island is huge, which is a good thing in a game like this, but the lack of transportation options makes travel feel tiresome and unengaging. The combination of slow movement speed, lack of vehicles, and open areas with no difficulty curve makes the island of Prehistoric Hunt feel unbalanced. The massive Brachiosaurus was the first of the dinosaurs to appear and almost every available bullet was put into it before it went down, due in part to the lack of a hunter-vision mechanic that would highlight weak-points in real time.

However, it's hard to get a feel for how many dinosaurs this island has because it feels empty from the start, and takes a good five to seven minutes to have its first encounter. On the contrary, Prehistoric Hunt has a solid sense of identity and vision of what it wants to be. Prehistoric Hunt is a dinosaur hunting game with the potential to provide players and their friends with the fantasy of being rugged and hardened dinosaur hunters, but its current state falls well short of that potential. The island world feels incredibly empty and quiet which is made worse by a surprising lack of dinosaurs relative to the size of the map.
